Network Specialist

Falmouth Exeter Plus manages and delivers services at Falmouth, Penryn and Truro Campuses on behalf of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter. In support of this we are now looking to recruit a Network Specialist to join the platform and infrastructure team.

 

The successful candidate will be reporting to the IT Service Delivery Manager and be responsible for overseeing a significant number of delivery projects, as well as managing standard day-to-day BAU issues. This includes ensuring the timely delivery of KPIs and managing the balance of time between BAU and project work and leading on securing, developing and supporting a large and complex Cisco based Campus Network.

 

It is an exciting time as we grow the Digital & IT Directorate to meet the needs of our university partners as they continue to move ahead with their ambitious growth plans. You will have the support of the wider IT Service Delivery team and have the autonomy to lead on major network projects.

With previous experience of working in a senior networking role, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to work with key stakeholders and developing business cases for major capital projects.  You will possess significant project management experience and a good understanding of risk management, as well as sound knowledge of Cisco Wifi and network management tools, including Prime and DNA Centre.

This senior post is offered on a 37.5 hour a week, full time, permanent contract working across Monday-Friday.   We are able to offer this post on a hybrid basis with a mix of on-campus and at home working.
