It will establish Falmouth as the market leader for creative industries and entrepreneurship education over the next decade, capitalising on our considerable assets in innovation-led research and business incubation.

We are looking for an inspiring and engaging educator who can help students on our undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with particular emphasis on MA Indie Game Development. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the games industry in a design or technical design role, with experience of game development and solving problems related to design in a games context, as well as a strong desire to share practice and methods with students. They will be versatile, and be able to contribute to a teaching team which spans multiple different disciplines, encompassing both academics and games industry professionals. The ideal applicant will also have experience writing for games, and is well-connected within the modern AAA or indie games industry.

About You

This role is focused around teaching game development and potentially innovation and game production skills, while branching out to assist the rest of the academy’s multidisciplinary teams of students in the business context of game development – with a focus on Agile project management. It would suit an established game designer wishing to make the move into Higher Education, with a desire to share their knowledge with keen students.

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Experience working in the games industry or as an indie game developer
  • Strong, high quality portfolio demonstrating varied abilities

  • An up-to-date knowledge and understanding of changing trends and requirements in the industry
For further details on the skills/experience required for this role, please see the full job description.

Due to the online nature of this role, it can be worked remotely, however the successful candidate must be based within the UK.
