About The Role

We are seeking to recruit a Module Leader to join our BA (Hons) Illustration (Online) course team within The Falmouth School of Art. This exciting role will be key in supporting the Course Leader with development, enhancement and delivery of the following modules; Shape: Introduce and Negotiate, Refine: Refine and Apply.
 
The modules are level 5 projects that will require a knowledge of independent practice at an undergraduate level, visual problem-solving strategies and techniques, and exploration of visual language to include but not limited to animation, digital production, artificial intelligence, video editing, film production, colour and composition. These modules are characterised by negotiated student projects in the second half of their undergraduate programme.

You will work closely with our Course Leader to align these modules with the course narrative and vision, as well as have significant responsibility for developing other modules with the production and digital learning teams. Once the modules are live you will then work closely with online tutors to deliver your modules.
 
This role starts in January 2024 to deliver the first module in study block 2 then to later enable the design and production of other modules launching over the coming year. You will also prepare enhancements for the next iteration of the modules working closely with the course team.

About You

The successful candidate for this role will have knowledge and experience in the broad context of illustration with an innovative and dynamic practice and contemporary industry knowledge. You will have experience of curriculum development and / or management in education, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the commitment to deliver an excellent online learning experience for students through the design and delivery of pre-recorded learning material, working as part of an experienced academic team, supporting a diverse and international undergraduate cohort.
 
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
 
  • Strong and current connections to industry through their own practice and professional networks
  • Experience of video and sound production and editing
  • Experience of working with digital production teams in any area 
  • A proven track record of working to production team deadlines within industry or without 
  • Dedication to the development of creative arts pedagogy 
  • An adaptable and engaging teaching practice
  • Well-developed administrative abilities

This is a part-time, 14 hours a week position across Monday-Friday.
 
Due to the online nature of this role it can be worked remotely, however the successful candidate must be based within the UK.
