About The Role

Falmouth University is currently seeking to appoint two ambitious and energetic Research Fellows to join the Centre for Blended Realities. Funded by Research England’s Expanding Excellence in England scheme, you will play a critical role in driving research excellence at Falmouth University. The focus of the role is to develop and share interdisciplinary understandings of blended reality technologies, and their varied application in creative settings.
 
We seek individuals who are passionate about interdisciplinary research and eager to collaborate with our existing team to push the boundaries of knowledge and practice.
 
The main duties and responsibilities of this role include include leading and participating in cutting-edge research projects, developing impact case studies, securing external funding, engaging with industry and community interest groups, and disseminating research findings through various channels. Additionally, you will contribute to the strategic goals of the University by fostering innovation, mentoring emerging researchers, and supporting the broader RKE agenda. This role will commence in Autumn 2024. 
 

About You

The successful candidate will have a PhD in an aligned area, and experience of working in a research intensive context. You will have the proven ability to inspire colleagues, work independently, and contribute to collaborative projects. You should bring with you innovative approaches to research practices, and specialist insight from across a range of disciplines, including (but not limited to) technology development, digital humanities, and the digital creative industries. We seek individuals who are passionate about interdisciplinary research and eager to collaborate with our existing team to push the boundaries of knowledge and practice.
 
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
 
  • Enthusiasm for / experience of research leadership and innovation
  • Experience of external engagement and knowledge exchange
  • Understanding of funding acquisition landscape
  • Demonstrable project management track-record
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of mentorship and capacity building
