The successful candidate should be an astute experienced professional, committed to the development of Health & Safety services, continued improvement of H&S culture, have the ability to work alone or as part of a team and be enthusiastic to support and motivate others. Excellent communication skills are essential together with a high level of IT proficiency.
Experience working in Health & Safety within a large organisation with a broad risk profile is essential, together with a strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation. The post holder should have experience in the development and implementation of H&S Policies and procedures, risk assessments, monitoring, inspection, auditing and incident and accident investigation. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake training needs analysis and deliver training packages to support the business needs.
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience:
- An interest in and understanding of health and safety and a willingness to promote best practice and cultural change.
- Broad technical knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
- A good understanding of CDM, construction type activities and project management.
- Experience undertaking H&S Audits and Inspections.
- Ability to transmit and write reports.
- Experience in delivering Health and Safety Training.
- Knowledge of ISO45001 / ISO9001 / ISO14001.
The post holder must hold the minimum of a NEBOSH general certificate, be a member of a recognised Health & Safety Body and be prepared to study for and obtain a NEBOSH diploma or an NVQ equivalent (level 5/6).

This post is offered on a 37.5 hour a week, full time, permanent contract working across Monday-Friday with flexibility to work some evenings and weekends to support business need.
