About The Role

Falmouth University's ambitious 2030 Strategy, ‘Doing it for Real’, is designed to deliver yet further growth in our student numbers and income through portfolio diversification, innovation, research and commercial ventures. It will establish Falmouth as the market leader for creative industries and entrepreneurship education over the next decade, capitalising on our considerable assets in innovation-led research and business incubation.

To help deliver our 2030 Strategy, we are now looking to recruit a Course Leader for our MA Fine Art (Online) programme.

Utilising our online platforms this transformative practice-driven programme brings together a community of practitioners to engage with what it means to be an artist in the global context. The key strength of this course is that it facilitates the building of a professional network, working from a range of locations and positions, and bringing practitioners together in critical dialogue. A critical approach to both the making, dissemination and reception of art will be a core focus, as we bring theory and practice together to find new ways of responding to the social, political, economic and environmental conditions of our contemporary world.

As part of the Falmouth School of Art teaching and learning team, this is a pivotal role to make a success of an innovative course offering. You will work with the School’s leadership team, academics and senior colleagues to oversee delivery of compelling learning experiences while working in conjunction with the University’s established and highly expert specialist online learning teams.

About You

The successful candidate will need to be a pro-active team player, who is conscientious, hard-working and is able to play an active part in growing Falmouth’s active online presence. Falmouth’s online learning environments are fast paced, so we are looking for a champion who has the energy and agility needed to ensure we traverse an ever-changing HE landscape.

Alongside these core qualities, we are seeking someone with high level subject expertise in Fine Art, and related disciplines; a comprehensive understanding of quality issues and requirements in HE at postgraduate level and experience of module development, to ensure delivery aligns with pedagogical requirements of the University. You will have experience of successfully developing initiatives in an international context; and the ability to lead teams and manage resources. The role requires someone with exceptionally strong organisational skills, to manage the complexity of online delivery.

For full details of the skills/experience required, please see the full job description above.

This is a permanent, part-time, 17.5 hours a week position.

Due to the online nature of this role, it can be worked remotely, however the successful candidate must be based within the UK.

The closing date for this position is Monday 26 September 2022.
