We are seeking a candidate with an excellent working knowledge of a wide range of relevant photographic and fashion image-making practices. The position requires excellent abilities to communicate and demonstrate new skills and techniques to students with a wide range of learning styles, based on professional experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with fashion film, from cinemaphotography, digital post-production and editing. Additionally, we require the candidate to have demonstrable experience and knowledge of a wide range of video cameras, professional lighting (location and studio). The role requires a thorough knowledge of relevant specialist software including Adobe Premiere. A working knowledge of Adobe After Effects would be advantageous.
A crucial part of the role requires extensive knowledge of photographic stills technologies, specific to fashion image making. Industry level knowledge that includes digital capture, cameras, studio and location flash lighting practices is key. Postproduction workflow and specific software that include Capture One, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
Experience with emerging 3D technologies, that include Photogrammetry, Blender, Metashape and with a willingness/ability to learn these and other specialist technologies is important aspect for the role. Technical workshops centred around creativity and new image-making technologies will be key to the development of the curriculum.
We are looking for an individual who is an excellent communicator, is motivated, supportive, and enthusiastic. The ability to excite students through industry-linked initiatives, demonstrating a progressive and dynamic approach to in the delivery of technical workshops is essential.
The successful candidate will bring a proactive and agile response to Fashion & Textile Institutes sustainability goals. They will have the flexibility to work in different locations (in a range of settings and contexts) and will have a full, clean driving licence.
You will need a working knowledge and demonstrable industry experience of the health and safety issues involved with this role. Whilst you may not have a recognised H&S qualification at present you will be expected to study for one through the university’s continuing Professional Development Program.

This is a permanent, part time, 19.25 hour per week position with negotiable working days to be confirmed according to timetable requirements.
