About The Role

Falmouth Exeter Plus is the service delivery partner of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter. We deliver shared services and facilities for both partners in Cornwall underpinned by close collaboration with Students Union, the combined students' union for Falmouth and UoE, to ensure that the interests of students and staff are at the heart of everything we do. Both institutions are expanding their teaching and research operations in Cornwall at a pace. It is, therefore, a fast-moving environment where agility and a positive approach to change and enhancement are critical, our purpose or mission is 'to deliver world-class shared professional services to help its university partners to achieve their global ambitions.
 
Our ethos is to develop and maintain effective systems that provide an exceptional student experience, which align with the strategic direction of the universities. We are therefore looking for a creative and ambitious Web Developer to join our Directorate Support team, in the Student & Library Services directorate to take us forward. This position plays a key role in maintaining and developing our StudyHub and Library websites, a virtual extension of our physical learning environments and gateway to support, whilst also supporting the administration and configuration of the CMS and providing technical training and support to system users who create and edit site content.

About You

We are seeking someone with previous experience in developing and supporting websites, with good understanding of current web standards and legislation, experience of conveying and presenting information to non-technical users to gain buy in and strong communication skills to help visualise and develop the link between our physical and virtual spaces.
 
We would like to hear from candidates who can also offer the following:
 
  • Experience developing Drupal themes, using Twig (or a template engine for PHP)
  • Experience of working with Agile Scrum and use of Microsoft DevOps or Jira
  • Experience of curating websites as Learning destinations.

This is a part-time, 22.5 hours per week position. The role is envisaged as a hybrid position, with one day per week on campus initially with an option to reduce and flexible working patterns which will be discussed at interview.
