About The Role

We are seeking to recruit an Estates Helpdesk Assistant to join our Estates Helpdesk team within the Infrastructure Directorate. The role will be primarily based at our Penryn Campus but may require occasional support at the other campuses.

The Estates Helpdesk team is primarily the first point of contact for queries from staff, students and contractors visiting campus. The role ensures that all interactions with customers are logged, assessed and assigned to the relevant Estates teams for action and that once work is finished administrative closure is completed. Enquiries are raised via multiple methods including phone, email, face to face and via the CAFM self-service portal. The role also co-ordinates with other Estates team members via 2-way radio.

Some prior experience of working with Computer Aided Facilities Management systems (CAFM) or Contractor Control systems would be an advantage.

About You

Reporting to the Service Desk Manager, the successful candidate will provide excellent customer services to staff and students of Falmouth University, University of Exeter, The Students Union and other partner organisations/contractors. You will have relevant experience in a customer relations environment, preferably as a ‘front line’ member of staff, good organisational skills and the ability to work without direct supervision. Alongside these key skills, we are looking for a positive, supportive and a flexible team player.

  • The ability to build effective professional relationships with colleagues, contractors and external stakeholders
  • Some experience using facilities and/or contractor management systems

This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 37.5 hours per week contract working 08:30 am to 17:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The role is campus based and limited remote working is available where agreed with the line manager. Some out of hours work may be required around critical periods such as Welcome Weekend, Graduations.
