About The Role

The Institute of Photography is one of the UK's leading photography schools, with a reputation for innovation, technical excellence and environmental engagement.

We are looking to recruit a Lecturer to join the Institute of Photography to teach on the BA(Hons) Marine and Natural History Photography course, with a specialism in Natural History, Biodiversity, Photography and Visual communication.

This role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic academic team, contribute to future-focused teaching, develop research and knowledge exchange activity, and help shape the next generation of photographers and visual communicators.

About You

The ideal candidate will be engaged in contemporary Natural History Photography, with some previous experience of teaching in Higher Education.  We are particularly looking for applicants from diverse backgrounds.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following skills/experiences:

Essential:
  • Good understanding of Photography in a Natural History setting.
  • A practice engaged in issues around the environment and the natural world.
  • Experience of teaching in HE.
Desirable:
  • Engagement in academic research.
  • A background in Natural History fieldcraft.
