About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Associate working through the Centre for Arts and Health on the Health Determinants Research Collaboration Cornwall (HDRC).
 
The HDRC is a research collaboration led by Public Health in Cornwall Council. The HDRC aims to better understand the causes and consequences of health inequalities in Cornwall. The programme will build a research culture that drives evidence led solutions informing policy and practice across Cornwall Council and its partners.
 
Falmouth University is taking the lead in arts bases research and creative approaches to research and lived experience within the collaboration.  The role will work to the Professor of Interdisciplinary Health and Innovation to find creative opportunities to build arts-based research projects and skills within the collaboration.
 
The role will work directly with partners, particularly Cornwall Council and within communities to explore through an arts based lens the health inequalities that matter most to the people of Cornwall. Through the research activity we will further build the rigour required of arts-based research within the health inequalities space.
 

About You

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience: 
 
  • Delivering participatory/community-based research
  • Creative specialisms that can be applied to a broad spectrum of health inequality research
  • Post Doctoral experience
  • Registered for PhD study and actively pursuing achievement of PhD
  • Knowledge and experience of the broad field of enquiry in Arts and Health
  • Ambition to develop knowledge of research methods and techniques
  • Academic publications/working towards academic publications
