About The Role

Falmouth University’s School of Communication is looking for an Associate Lecturer in English & Creative Writing to join our dynamic team of writers, publishers and academics at the Falmouth Campus.

As an Associate Lecturer on the BA Creative Writing/BA English & Creative Writing/BA Journalism & Creative Writing degrees you will deliver module content and core under-graduate teaching primarily on English modules. Module content centres primarily on trans-historical English literary/cultural theory, including wider theoretical content about society, identity, revolutions and media. It would also be a benefit to have experience in Creative Writing studies, creative project management, or publishing studies.

We are looking for fixed term cover at around two days per week, on modules taught in Study Block 2 (19 January 2026 – 8 May 2026).

About You

The ideal candidate will be a literary/cultural studies academic with a rising research profile with a critical background in cultural studies, literary theory, or media theory and criticism (including publishing or film). We also welcome applications from published authors with a portfolio career across various formats in the creative industries and a literary-critical educational history.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about their work and the industry our students aspire to work in. You will be collaborative, energetic and adaptable. You will need to be an excellent communicator with teaching and / or mentoring experience.
