For more than 120 years, we've been at the forefront of creativity and innovation. Building on that heritage, we're now harnessing the power of digital technology to ensure we're making an impact in the future economy.
The creative culture at our core is not confined to our Cornwall campuses; with our online degrees established in 2016, students can explore their creative potential from anywhere, whilst being taught by our academic community with real industry connections. We are committed to continuing to expand our horizons and moving our online portfolio forward.
Falmouth University's Games Academy is excited to offer the opportunity for a Lecturer (Final Major Project Supervisor) to join our MA Indie Game Development (IGD) program. This role is integral to guiding students through their final major project, IGD751, and is pivotal in shaping their research capabilities and academic success.
In this role, you will review and approve student proposals, providing tailored support to up to 30 students and guiding them through their independent research projects. Your responsibilities will include supervising, delivering research skills, and assessing student work. Collaborating with other supervisors and the Course Leader, you will ensure consistency in academic content, assessment standards, and student experience while adhering to quality assurance procedures.
You will conduct weekly live sessions, including group critiques, webinars, and tutorials, for a global cohort of students. In addition to these live sessions, you will provide pastoral support and academic guidance through various channels, including email, one-on-one meetings, and an online studio space. You will work closely with the course and module leaders to enhance the student learning experience.
The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the vibrant academic community at Falmouth University's Games Academy and impact IGD education.
